Singer and songwriter for original rock band “Drama Queen.” Played hundreds of gigs, recorded two independent EPs and worked alongside many fabulous Australian musicians and industry bods.

Founded Watch Tower Studio in South Melbourne. An ever-changing gallery of paintings, photography, textiles, and sculpture. Supporting the careers of many local, visual Artists and Designers

1999 to 2008 – The Corporate Years

Managing Director of The Message Centre (Armadale Victoria), high-complexity in-bound contact centre. Developed and grew the business from 6 to 50 seats, moving from trade and service industry into medical and emergency response. 

2008

Founded The Chandelier Room (Live Music Venue) which focused on singer-songwriters and original bands, hosted hundreds of performances and launched many esteemed careers.

2009

Coached over two hundred teenaged musicians at Melbourne Rock School (2009 to 2015). This school holiday program covered musicianship, stage performance, songwriting and music industry knowledge.

Faced with so many talented but disillusioned Artists, Anthea founded Sound Music Business as a vehicle to coach musicians in business practice.

2016

Opened Jimmy Hornet (Music Venue) in Zhongshan, CHINA. Introduced more than twenty International Artists to China, and created a community of local musicians.

2020

Jimmy Hornet Richmond (Melbourne) opened its doors in February 2020 as an Intimate Music Lounge. Specializing in original and unique music content, with Live Music six nights a week.

In February 2021, Anthea started a magazine called The Hornet Press. The concept was born from lockdown frustration and our continued support of the greater creative community. It’s a publication full of wonderful people, ideas, and inspiration.
